There are only two ranks in the Order of Tauren: Initiate and Brethren. An Initiate is sponsored by an existing member of the Brethren, and then spends a full year fighting and training with the unit. The Initiate will wear the white tabard to signify his status as a student, for he will learn through the course of the year to be fully self-sufficient in regard to equipment and fighting ability.
The Initiate must meet the unit's standards for attendance, which is nine (9) fighting days of event attendance per year. He must also work throughout the year to obtain enough weapons to support all his fighting needs, and several outfits of quality garb. After a year's time, the Initiate will be brought forth before the Brethren, where he will be put to the question and will complete a fighting trial to prove his worth. Full membership is granted only upon a unanimous decision by all Brethren. Failing that, the Initiate will be given the option of continuing his training for another full year.
The Brethren seek to represent the best that the realm of Taurendor has to offer. They are fully self-sufficient veterans who have proven their worth time and again. Brethren wear black tabards to represent their roles as mentors and masters of their craft. Each member is equally responsible for the welfare of the unit and shares power equally for all unit decisions.
Any member of the Brethren can petition the unit to bring a new Initiate into the ranks. Due to the concentration on personal training between Brethren and Initiates, there may never at any time be more Initiates than Brethren. All Brethren maintain their voting status by being active in the unit and realm according to the attendance requirement placed on all Initiates. Failing to do so causes a review of the member in question, who can then be declared inactive for a year and will lose voting status until they once again fulfill the yearly attendance requirement.
