We are the Order of Tauren, an official unit of Taurendor, the Philadelphia chapter of the Dagorhir Battle Game
Association, Inc.  Dagorhir is a medieval reenactment combat sport that uses safely padded weapons in a
non-choreographed live-action setting.  The game includes themes and characterizations that range from the Dark Ages of
Europe to Tolkien's Middle-Earth.

The Order of Tauren is a brotherhood of fighters who share a common vision to be the best the realm of Taurendor has to
offer.  We have high standards of excellence in regard to combat prowess and quality of garb and equipment, but also in
leadership ability and dedication to serve and protect the realm.  Our requirements for membership stress the importance of
skill and commitment, keeping us few in number but elite in caliber, able to tear through our enemies with speed, power and
style.

Most of our fighters hold positions of service to the realm in some fashion, ranking as knights, squires, or as members of
the government of Taurendor.  While this is not expected of all members, it serves as a good example for the kind of quality
we expect in our recruits.  We do not take applications; instead, we offer the opportunity to train those who show promise
and are willing to accept the level of commitment that we require.

Members of the Order of Tauren fight to win, ruthlessly slaughtering any who stand in our way.  But victory is not as
important as fighting well with skill and valor.  True victory goes not to the unnamed soldier in an army of thousands, but to
the warrior who is remembered for how many of those soldiers he killed before his own glorious death.

All members of the Order of Tauren must wear a tabard or belt flag as part of their uniform, for it is important to be
recognized and remembered on the field of battle.  We will offer full training and guidance to all new recruits, teaching them
to be self-sufficient once they have joined our ranks.  Finally, the Order of Tauren is a true democracy, where all official
members are treated as equals and vote on all decisions.
